Thanks go to Brewin Dolphin Glasgow for their kind support of the Beastie Triathlons.
17 years on from the very first Beastie Triathlon, Lomond Swimming and Triathlon Club are looking forward to hosting not only our famous Beastie and Wee Beastie Triathlons, but the Triathlon Scotland Scottish National Championship Aquathlon in the form of a Swim/Run Event.
For 2017 we have updated our popular routes for the Wee Beastie Novice and Beastie Sprint Triathlons to build on previous years’ feedback. These still include off-road mountain biking in and around Balloch Castle Country Park. Alongside registration and transition there will be refreshments available from St Mocha.
Our 16 years’ experience means we know how to create events to Triathlon Scotland standards that are fun, well organised, safe, and offer challenge to both new and experiences athletes alike. We hope you will join us on the Bonnie Banks to swim, bike, run!
Lomond Swimming & Triathlon Club are a friendly, inclusive club based in West Dunbartonshire and Argyll & Bute. You can what we are up to on our Facebook Page
20 miles northwest of Glasgow, just off the A82, Balloch Castle Country Park can be found using G83 8LX. The map below shows the park location and links to directions. There are good public transport links and we encourage use of these where possible as parking is limited within the park itself.
For locals, please consider cycling or walking up to the Event Centre, it would be a huge help on the day! For those travelling a little further, using one of the larger nearby car parks, or car sharing is strongly recommended. There are 2 large car parks within 20mins walk of the Event Centre, one at the Lomond Shores Shopping Centre, and one at the National Park building on Carrochan Road. Balloch Train Station is also just outside of the park, again around 20mins walk in to the Event Centre.
However you get to us, please make sure you leave yourself plenty of time as the area is likely to be busy. There is a Folk Festival in Balloch and the Pipe Band Championship in Dumbarton being held on the same day.
