750m Swim / 5km Run

Back by popular demand, this event takes place on the stunning shores of Loch Lomond from Balloch Castle Country Park and is part of the Triathlon Scotland Scottish National Championships. It is open to everyone, experienced and new to these types of events alike, all are welcome to take part!

The 750m open water swim follows a shallow route along the Loch Lomond shoreline that is well marked by buoys. The 5km run will take in paths and off-road trails around the scenic park grounds.

With well-equipped safety boats patrolling the swim, signage and marshals keeping a close eye out along the run route, and St Andrews’s ambulance on site, this event gives you the incredible location and technical support to challenge yourself to a new level.

**We do not send race packs out by post**

Your race packs are ready to pick up on the morning of the event from Registration - this will have your race number and timing chip in. There will be a tub of safety pins at registration if you need them to attach your race number to your Tri-belt or T-Shirt.

Transition

Transition will be open from 0800 until 0900. It will then remain closed until every competitor has finished the Aquathlon. Only competitors will be allowed in transition. Boxes and bags are not permitted in transition.

Race Briefings

The Race briefing for the Bikeless Beastie will be given at 0900 on the waterfront by the Race Director and Tri Scotland Official.

Race Routes

The run course has changed from 2 years ago to remove the crossover between bikes and swimmers exiting the water. The maps will be available on race day near Registration, but don't worry, there will be plenty of marshals and signage to keep you right!

Bag Drop

There will be a staffed baggage tent available next to Registration.

Catering

St Mocha will be at the event selling hot drinks, soup and ice cream. We will also have water available for all participants and free fruit for post event energy.

The prizegiving will take place after our last competitor crosses the finish line. We have prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd men and women across the finish line. All finishers will receive a goodybag and medal - handmade locally.
